This month’s meditation
Prologue:
“They never sought in vain that sought the Lord aright.” -Robert Burns
“And Satan trembles when he sees
The weakest saint upon his knees.” -William Cowper
Prayer:
Lord, as the birds build their nest in the branches, as the farmers plow and plant seed in their fields, as the fruit ripens on the vine, as the hot sun warms the earth, as the stars glow in the galaxy, so enable us to build, to plow and to plant, to ripen, to warm and to glow. As spring changes into summer, so change us, so that we may measure up, even though imperfectly, to your high and holy spiritual and moral precepts, so that we may become a dynamo person with a dynamo faith, so that we may a ray of hope and a voice of joy in the room of despair and sadness. God help us to be! Amen.
