Angel Food Ministries
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve thousands of families every month across 17 states.
Blessings by the box
Each $30 standard unit of groceries fits into a medium-sized box and is comparable to about $50 worth of food purchased in a retail store. Every month a new selection of fresh and frozen items is available. One unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single person for almost a month. The food is the same quality as that purchased at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is overripe.
Specials featuring boxes of meat, poultry and packaged meals are also available at low cost. Many participants appreciate the expanded choices offered in the specials. There is no limit to the number of standard or special units an individual can purchase, and there are no eligibility forms to complete or qualifications participants must meet.
How It Works
- Check this web page for packages offered each month.
- Place your order by the deadline for the month (payment must accompany order).
- Pick up your order on the listed distribution day. Be sure to bring your receipt.
We participate in the US Food Stamp program. EBT customers must place orders in person at the office of First Baptist Church. Call 291-4141 between 8:00 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday for an appointment.
