Blessings by the box

Each $30 Signature Box of groceries fits into a medium-sized box and is comparable to about $50 worth of food purchased in a retail store. Every month a new selection of fresh and frozen items is available. One unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single person for almost a month. The food is the same quality as that purchased at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is overripe.

Senior/Convenience boxes, suitable for microwave cooking, and seasonal boxes, tailored to use in preparing a single large holiday meal, are also available.

Allergen-free boxes contain foods specially selected for those with common food allergies.

The Seafood Box is a welcome addition to the line-up of basic boxes.

Specials featuring boxes of meat, poultry, fruits & vegetables, and packaged meals are also available at low cost. Many participants appreciate the expanded choices offered in the specials. There is no limit to the number of standard or special units an individual can purchase, and there are no eligibility forms to complete or qualifications participants must meet.

How It Works

Place your order by the deadline for the month (payment must accompany order).

Pick up your order on the listed distribution day. Be sure to bring your receipt.

To order

in person, visit the office at First Baptist Church, South Bend, or call 291-4141 weekdays (and Saturday, February 13) 8am-noon.

We participate in the US Food Stamp program. EBT customers must place orders in person at the office.

by mail, download the order form (PDF), fill it out, and mail it in with your check or money order (no cash, please). Mail orders must be received in our office by the deadline.

on line, fill out the short form at the bottom of this page. When you click the Buy button, you will be taken to a secure web page where you can enter your name, address, and credit card information.

Note: Orders must be placed by the specified date even if the order form is still present and active.
Orders placed after the deadline may be canceled by First Baptist Church.
